Should Pinky make a new ENSC website?

Yes, this one is pretty ordinary

No, it does the job

I think ENSC would look more professional with a new website

Website? I've never been there.

Paid coaching work
Message passed on through the FFV about some paid coaching work:

Dear Coaches,

Looking for paid coaching work? Available from 3pm till 5pm during weeknights (some or all)? Like coaching primary aged children?

The Australian Sports Commission's 'Active After-school Communities' (AASC) program requires Football (soccer) coaches to deliver to primary school children across Melbourne and in many Regional areas of Victoria (See areas listed in the table below). Football is one of the most popular activities in the AASC program in Victoria and schools are keen to have qualified coaches to deliver 'Small Sided Games' and other game
based football activities to primary school aged children. The AASC program's 'Play for Life' philosophy is to give children a fun, safe and structured introduction to a variety of games and physical activities.

Mail-server glitch resulting in late emails

Mail-server error results in late emails

Many club members would have received an email yesterday about the Victory Ultimate Training Experience that was held on November 5th.

Unfortunately there seems to have been some kind of glitch with our mail-server and this email is being received a month after it was dispatched!

Sorry for the confusion.

Keeper joins the coaching team for 2009

The ENSC Committee is very happy to announce that experienced keeper Tony Dent has joined the ENSC coaching team for 2009.

Tony has been a goalkeeper since he first started soccer as a six year old and since went on to compete in many senior leagues including La Trobe Valley League, FFV State League 2 and 3, and at the peak of his career competed in Premier League for 3 seasons.

In 2008 Tony joined the ENSC senior men's Provisional 3 South-East League team, and will once again be playing for the Firsts in that competition in 2009.

Tony is an enthusiastic keeper, and great with kids, and we are sure that many of our junior keepers will benefit from the vast experience that he has in this capacity.

'Victory' to ENSC

Victory players will visit Eltham North Soccer Club to conduct a special training exercise for the current Under 10s team on Wednesday, November 5th.

Club members and the general public will have the opportunity to request autographs and take photos with the players from 6.40pm to 7.30pm.

There will be a BBQ, drinks and prizes to the kids dressed in the best football fan gear.

The more the merrier - so if you have nothing on, drop in and say, "G'day!".

Eltham players selected for Victory

Massive congrats to Eltham WPL players Deanna Niceski, Nicole Paul and Enza Barilla who have been selected to play for the Melbourne Victory W-League team. An amazing achievement by the girls.

Enza Barilla has collected several high-profile awards during her career so far including the 2006 Hoar-Melvin Award for best junior girl in the state (while playing for Keilor Park) followed by the Jones-Martin Award for best youth female player in 2007!

Deanna Niceski has also been a stand-out player for Eltham and was awarded the Women's Premier League Top Goal Scorer for the 2008 season. According to club records Deanna has played for Eltham for 5 years.

Nicole Paul, who has also played with Eltham for 5 years, has been a stand-out keeper in the WPL - and the 2008 season was no exception with some magnificent, dynamic saves that kept the team out of trouble more than once.

So well done to the girls, and we can't wait to see their debut match: Melbourne Victory vs. Central Coast Mariners, Telstra Dome, Saturday OCT 25th at 4pm.

Sep 2008 Redback (Issue #13) and other pieces

The latest Redback #13 can be downloaded here: Redback Issue #13

It contains the recently elected committee. In particular congratulations and best of luck to our new club President, Cameron Lockhart. It is a very demanding role and the committee will support Cameron with this challenging volunteer position, and we are sure that he will make a strong President for 2009.

From now ENSC will be accepting registrations for the 2009 season, so that we are able to prepare more efficiently with regards to placing teams, coaches and managers over the off-season.

The 2009 general information sheet is available here: 2009 registration general information sheet

And the compulsory club registration form (there will most likely be an FFV form to sign at a later date also) is available here: 2009 ENSC registration form

We will have all these forms at the Junior Presentation Day, and will be accepting $100 deposits for the 2009 season on the day.
